Resources · How to purchase
From first ideas to finished windows.
Pricing matters, so we start with a no-obligation preliminary quote. Here’s how it works, from your first window list to installation day.
Part one
Start with a preliminary quote
Send us a few details and we’ll put together a preliminary quote. If you already know which products you’d like, let us know and your quote will be as accurate as possible. If you’re still deciding, we’re happy to help you find the right fit.
What to send us
Your window list: each room with approximate width x height
A floorplan, if you have one
Any products you have in mind
What’s working, or not, with your current shades
Your priorities: privacy, energy savings, light filtering, room darkening or blackout, motorized or manual
Example window list
Living room
72” x 60”
Primary bedroom
48” x 54”
Kitchen
36” x 42”
Office
60” x 48”
Email your window list to hello@deanzainterior.com, or book a showroom visit and bring it with you.
Prefer to start with a certified measurement? You’re welcome to. The measurement fee is non-refundable and is credited toward your final purchase. We usually suggest starting with the preliminary quote, since measuring before your products are chosen can mean some details aren’t accounted for, and a second visit, which may carry an additional fee, could be needed.
Part two
From quote to installation
01
Choose your fabrics
Visit our San Jose showroom to see and feel the fabrics and finalize your products. You’re welcome to do this before your quote, too.
02
Certified measurement
Once your selections are set, our technician measures your home with your exact products in mind. The measurement fee is non-refundable and is credited toward your final purchase.
03
Finalize your order
We’ll send your final quote and a digital purchase agreement. We accept credit card and ACH, with financing through Affirm on qualifying purchases.
04
Installation
When your window treatments arrive, we’ll call to schedule installation.
Remodeling or building?
For homes under construction or being remodeled, we offer in-home consultations, including planning for hardwired power.

Please contact us before bringing in your shade
Warranty claims are filed directly with Hunter Douglas, so they can’t be processed during a showroom visit. Email us first and we’ll confirm whether your shade is covered before you make the trip.
Hunter Douglas window treatments are backed by the Hunter Douglas Lifetime Limited Warranty. If something isn’t working, here’s how coverage works and how to start a claim with us.
Coverage periods to know
Operational cords: 7 years from the date of purchase
Motorized components: 5 years from the date of purchase
Not covered: normal wear and tear, accidental damage or misuse, fading or discoloration, exposure to sun, wind, or moisture, improper installation, cleaning, or maintenance, and shipping, removal, or reinstallation costs.
Not the original purchaser of your shades? You may still qualify for free parts under the Hunter Douglas warranty.
How to start a claim
Email hello@deanzainterior.com with:
A description of the issue, in as much detail as possible
Photos of the shade showing the issue
A photo of the Hunter Douglas label on the top of the headrail, which shows your original order number
If you can’t find the label, the name used on the original purchase and the approximate year
Shades more than 15 years old may no longer be in our records, so a photo of the label is required. If we can’t locate the original order number from the label or your original invoice, we’re unable to process a warranty claim.
Where to find your label
Label styles vary by product and year. Look for a label on the top of the headrail with an order number.

These labels can come in a variety of colors, such as blue, green, pink, white, etc.

If your claim is approved
Approved shades are dropped off at our San Jose showroom. Visits are by appointment only, so email us to schedule your drop-off.
Removing your shade yourself: If you’re not sure how to take it down, email us and we’ll send removal instructions.
Prefer we remove it? We can schedule a service call for removal. A service call fee applies.
After the repair, you can pick up your shade at our showroom or have it shipped directly to your home. Some shades, such as larger sizes, can’t be shipped to a home address.
Fees
Even when a shade is covered, a shipping and processing fee applies. The fee depends on whether De Anza Interior was your original dealer. If you choose home delivery, the fee is due at drop-off. If you pick up at our showroom, it’s due at pickup.
If you’d like us to come out and remove your shade, a service call fee applies. If a return visit is needed to reinstall it, a separate service call fee applies.

We’re not a repair facility. Repairs are quoted and completed by Hunter Douglas, so we can’t assess or price a repair in the showroom. Email us first and we’ll verify that your shade is repairable and get you a quote before you make the trip.
If your shade isn’t covered under warranty, it may still be repairable. We arrange out-of-warranty repairs through Hunter Douglas, so every repair starts with confirming that your shade can be repaired and what it will cost.
